IU community members are invited to donate gently used items to reuse initiatives during the Spring 2026 move-out season!
Donated items will be made available to incoming students, community organizations, and IU programs. This includes but is not limited to: IU Sustainability Move-In Free Store & Lending Library, local nonprofits and community organizations, and IU Surplus.
For on-campus student residents:
Residence Halls: Accepted items will be collected directly at residence centers in labeled areas - typically floor lounges and lobbies. Please refer to center desk staff for location details. Collection will take place for 2 weeks, from April 27th to May 8th.
Campus Apartments: Residents may consider the International Furniture Give-Away program trailers located at 3rd & Union, Campus View, and Tulip Tree Apartments from May 7th to May 11th during afternoon hours.
Greek Housing: When available, items will be collected directly at Greek Houses. Contact your House Director or Live-in Advisor for more information.
For off-campus students and all other community members:
Accepted items will be collected at the E-House (704 E 10th Street). Items must be brought inside or placed on the wood deck between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on weekdays except holidays. Please reach out to sustain@iu.edu with any questions.
E-House Storage Status: Open
Community members may also consider donating directly to local organizations. A centralized location for multiple nonprofits has been established at the Banneker Community Center (930 W 7th Street), open weekdays between 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM beginning April 17th. See the City of Bloomington moveout resource guide for additional donation options - including some offering furniture pickup.
